Tips for Finding Personal Style

The best way to determine your personal style is to find what catches your eye. Once you have found those things that influence you, compile these references in one location.

Whenever I spot something that is appealing to me, whether in a store, online or in a magazine, I create clippings of these images. As I collect papers, I trim each and place them in clear plastic sleeves then put them in 3-ring binders. For smaller clippings, I store them in project folders.

Because I have been collecting for several years now, I have separated my clippings into multiple binders and labeled each accordingly. Currently I have the following binders:

  • Beauty
  • Fashion
  • Home Decorating
  • Travel

Once you've started your binders, maintain them by continually adding to and reading through them often.
